Houston, We Have A Pirate Problem!

Sunday sees a welcome return to league duty in the HFA for the Pirates after an unwelcome 3 week sabbatical.

With Houston United FC awaiting the motley crew, the task to return back into the fray perhaps could not have been made more difficult as the Houston side currently sit 1 point above the Galveston side, yet have played 1 game less;so the 3 points available in this match take on much more importance when you look at the table positions.

Noone could have envisioned that the HFA Championship table would be such a close run thing as they reach the half way point in the season. With only 4 points seperating the top six sides, this league go go in any direction at any given time.

With second placed Celtic playing sixth place Titans and playing Moya FC, there is a chance that the Pirates could go top should both those sides lose and the Pirates win.

Coach Brendan Keyes said:"This will be a tough match for us, for me, Houston United are one of the best in this league, if not THE best. In our opening match of this current season we lost 4-2 to Houston but we have progressed a lot since then and we would be hopeful of winning this match against them to leapfrog them in the league."

"We played Houston Rangers from the Premier League during the week, and it was a good workout for us in preparation for this one. We played badly in that match, probably the worst this season so hopefully the rustiness is out our system and we can get back to winning ways."

Bayland Park BayL2 9am kick off if you want to go along and support the Pirates in the quest for the golden treasue that is league success.
