The scrimmage against the Scorpions is a big match and one the Galveston side want to win. Although playing against a full time side, the Pirate players will be giving it everything on the pitch in search of a win.
"We want to win" said coach Keyes, "But we have to be realistic about it. They are full time, they have better players and they are on home turf so we will go out and enjoy the occasion and hopefully put up a good show of strength, showing what we are made of."
As part of the event, San Antonio Scorpions supporters club, Crocketteers, have organised a tailgate party prior to the game and everyone is invited.

The San Antonio Scorpions will take on the Galveston Pirates of the NPSL this Friday, March 9, 2012 in a scrimmage at STAR Soccer Complex. Game time is 7:30 pm. Join the Crocketteers for a free tailgate party in the STAR parking lot.
Come tailgate with us starting at 5:30 pm as we will be grilling up some free hamburgers and hot dogs. We will also be having free BEER, water, Red Bull, and sodas to wash the food down.
We will be bringing a few drums and we will also work on some of our chants.
You don't need to print a ticket but we would like you to register so that we know we have enough food and drink for the event.

Turn up early on Friday night and represent the team with you Pirate scarf and claim the rights to banter with the Scorpion supporters.
